Friendship Park

Friendship Park
Last Monday my fellow students and I took a walk along what is know to be Friendship Park. This is a place where families would come together and meet with loved ones through a chain link fence when they were unable to because of immigration regulations. Located at the U.S.- Mexican boarder, it separated Imperial Beach, California from Tijuana, Mexico. Although the Park is shut down and the only thing that lies there now is fence that separates one place from another. This was once a place where families would come together, it was now a desolate piece of land.
I really enjoyed walking through and taking a look into a culture so close to home, so close I almost forget that Mexico is only 20 minutes from my home, another world it seems. Here is a look at what it looks like through my lens piece. Enjoy!
